media-player-info software package provides Media player identification files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install media-player-info
media-player-info is installed in your system.
Make ensure the media-player-info package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep media-player-info *
You will get with media-player-info package name, version, architecture and description in a table
